Course Content
Module 1: Foundations of Cocktail Making and Bartending Tools
This module introduces the evolution of cocktails and the role of the modern bartender. Students explore cocktail families and styles while gaining hands-on familiarity with professional bar tools, equipment, and ingredients. Emphasis is placed on transforming concepts into well-executed drinks through proper technique and creativity.
Module 2: Bar Organization and Equipment Management
Learners develop the skills needed to set up and maintain an efficient bar station. Topics include workflow optimization, correct handling of glassware, equipment care, and professional standards for speed, cleanliness, and precision behind the bar.
Module 3: Ingredients and Core Principles of Mixology
This module focuses on the building blocks of cocktails. Students study base spirits, liqueurs, aperitifs, modifiers, and fresh ingredients, as well as the functional role of ice. Temperature control, dilution, and ingredient quality are examined as key factors in producing consistently high-quality drinks.
Module 4: Beverage Culture – Beer and Wine (WSET Level I)
Participants are introduced to beer and wine fundamentals with a focus on their application in cocktails and bar service. Guided tastings support sensory development, and students complete the requirements for the WSET Level I Award, gaining an internationally recognized certification.
Module 5: Preparation Techniques and Flavor Balance
This module develops technical mastery of classic and modern cocktail methods. Students practice shaking, stirring, building, and advanced techniques while working with syrups, foams, infusions, and garnishes. The principles of balance, texture, aroma, and pairing are applied to refine drink composition.
Module 6: Signature Cocktails and Bar Hospitality
Students design and present original cocktails, integrating creativity with technical and conceptual skills. The module also addresses hospitality fundamentals, including storytelling, communication, guest engagement, and service etiquette, to create memorable customer experiences.
Module 7: Professional Bar Management and Operations
This module introduces the business side of bartending. Topics include inventory control, cost management, menu pricing, logistics, and operational efficiency. Sustainability, responsible alcohol service, and ethical management practices are integrated throughout.
Final Project and Integrated Practical Assessment
Students apply their full range of knowledge and skills in a comprehensive final project. This includes practical bar performance, cocktail creation, and professional evaluation in a real or simulated service environment.
